Guide to Writing Good eBay Titles and Description

What carries the maximum weightage in your successful eBay marketing efforts is mastering the art and science of writing good eBay titles to your article and the way they deserve to be described.

I said the task is both art and science; it is science because it takes considerable amount of strategical choosing off of articles sell, keyword researching & choosing the relevant ones and using the statistical optimization techniques. On the other hand, describing the articles needs to be done in simple, easy to comprehend way. The description must be pleasing and appealing as truthful unlike the effect cast by passive language usage.

Tips to Writing eBay Titles and Description

It is here that you make the best impression on your visitors. The keyword phrased title enhances the occurrences of your listing being found not just within eBay search but even on search engines too.

· If you are selling Nokia phones, the appropriate primary keyword would be Nokia cell phone.

· Research for keywords having higher Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI). KEI is a number that goes up when there are higher searches/day in proportion to the number of web pages using the keyword in question and vise versa. KEI above 100% is great.

· Don’t ignore keywords having lower KEI but high searches/day as this is a measure of popularity of that keyword.

· Insert keywords into the title. For example, insert the words ‘used cars’ into the title regardless of the brand. For better effects, try misspelled keywords; in our example it can be ‘usesd cars’.

· Popular keyword research tools include GoogleSuggest, WordTracker and for misspelled words, Overture.

· Make titles descriptive, compelling; include brand name even if it repeats as keyword. Avoid words like ‘the’, ‘wow’, ‘outlawed’ or ‘detained’ either in title or product description. These are ‘stop words’ that disrupt search engines parsing your page.

Describing Your Articles

Greater the detail you provide the better. Include product and brand name, manufacturer or author as the case may be, how old or new it is, and the true condition, general/special features that makes the product standout.

Avoid lure words, untrue matters and unethical practices which fail you in the long run.
